I've set up the number of songs to five just because lately La Lennox seems to perform using this scheme. ;)

Thanks Michele!

In December during "A Tribute To Annie Lennox" she did 6 songs, so I'm going to add one song!

6. Love Song For A Vampire

I just had to put this in here, Norma. Your post sent me into an "Into the West" zone.....for me, it's a song that just gets deeper and more beautiful each time I hear it. I hadn't seen this video of Annie performing it on The Ellen DeGeneres Show until this morning. It's a lovely rendition.

I just totally LOVE that song, Patricia! :listen:

Thanks for the link, I had seen that video but think it may be new to many here! Lovely rendition indeed.

That's why I'd simply LOVE to hear Annie sing it with just the piano!

I've seen LOTR: Return Of The King not too long ago as Belgium TV programmed all three LOTR films during the World Cup. I always know exactly when my favourite scene comes up, when Gandalf talks about the ships that go into the west and it always gives me chills.... And Belgium TV is excellent as they always let the entire end credits run, so I got to hear Annie!! :listen:

Norma.

P.S. Not to make this macabre, but I want this song played at my cremation as it's the perfect metafor for death...

Indeed. One of the reasons it's so moving for me to watch her perform that song in early 2004 is that she had recently suffered the loss of her mum, and I think you can hear a very personal "goodbye...for now" in her voice.

It's not macabre. Death is part of the game, right? For many of us, Annie has provided the soundtrack of our lives....it seems beautiful and only fitting that she's singing at the end as well.

I sooooo agree with you, Patricia... It IS moving so see Annie perform the song not too long after she lossed her mum. And yes, death is part of life. And Annie most definitely HAS provided the soundtrack of my life....

Not really on topic, but as we've been discussing "Into The West" here, I just found this great video on YouTube that I hadn't seen before. It even contains my favourite scene of Gandalf talking about the white shores and all) when you hear the melody of "Into The West" playing in the background in the film)....

I become all teary when I watched it just now...
