Thanks for the link, Silba. :)
So the album will be out in autumn/winter... September, October, November or December? :)
It will surely be the perfect Christmas gift for all us Peeps.
I wonder if Annie has already decided about releasing it on her own or via record company.

I hope October, November or December, will be on holiday in September!

I hope Annie will be releasing it on her own, but please NOT as download(s) only... :geek:

My fear is that those two preferences may be at odds with one another, to the point of being mutually exclusive. :(

In other words, it's precisely the low-overhead, low-cost nature of digital (downloadable) music that allows artists the freedom to distribute their own work now. The production of physical media, especially with the quality and packaging that people would expect from an artist of Annie's stature, involves a substantial up-front investment. I think this is one of many reasons why artists rely on the big record companies...they have the resources and manufacturing capability (or contracts with third-party manufacturers) to produce and distribute the product on a large-scale. It would be very difficult for an individual artist to make and sell any significant quantity of CDs on their own.

And so......they turn to digital distribution.

You've made the point, Patricia: I'd love Annie to issue her forthcoming material in a more "independent" way too, but not at the price of having merely digital releases, especially after the grandeur of The Collection (CD, double CD, double vinyl).

I think I posted this link before, but how about this:

The first one "Self pressed CD" sounds very interesting. OK, she'd have to sell it online, but I don't think that would be a problem!

Or am I reading this whole thing wrong??

Interesting indeed! But somehow I have the feeling Annie will rely on traditional distribution too, at least for the standard edition.
What appears quite strange to me is the fact that for now there are still no advance informations about the release... :?:

It could be, but I think some promotion, even if little, needs to be done. Who knows? Only the A Girl. ;)

Annie spends a lot of time with her hiv work now and she has been doing loads, so maybe that is why. Also I know it's a sign of my age but I hate the way the hype starts so early now for music releases, I loved it when you just came across the song on the radio with out all the samples and sneak listens, months before you can actually get the bloody record! I am sure Annie will promote the record although I have to be honest, at times I find the promotion a bit random, her best of excepted! Like big tours ANYWHERE but the uk??!! LOL ! There is so much music out there now, too much I think, from the big companies, and it is fodder. But then there always was I suppose. I would love her to have a 'hit' but I would be surprised if Annie is making anything with that in mind, unless she has teamed up with Lady Gaga or Florence and the Machine! :D
